Overview:
The Eurasian Peoples affinity bloc encompasses the diverse peoples primarily located across Europe and parts of western Asia. The term "Eurasian" is used here to reflect the geographic span of these peoples, including those in the Caucasus region (such as Georgians and Armenians) and the eastward expansion of Russian-speaking peoples to the Pacific Ocean.
This affinity bloc is characterized by significant linguistic and cultural diversity. An estimated 27 of the world's approximately 39 major academic languages—those used as languages of instruction in universities worldwide—originate from peoples within this bloc, reflecting its historical influence on global education, scholarship, and international communication.
